FITS TO 1,2,3,4-WIRE O2 SENSORS. Vehicles fitted with factory oxygen sensors enable the air-fuel ratio to be monitored by means of an air fuel ratio meter. Air fuel ratio meter is also called AFR-gauge or Air Fuel Ratio Gauge. In the case of a narrowband AFR-gauge, the gauge typically might receive the voltage signal from the factory fitted O2 sensor which is used to provide closed-loop information to the ECU. Vehicles not using factory oxygen sensors enable the air-fuel ratio to be monitored by means of an air fuel ratio meter combined with an auxiliary aftermarket oxygen sensor connected to the AFR-gauge. OXYGEN SENSOR NOT INCLUDED. Air-fuel ratio, also referred to as AFR is determined as the mass ratio of air to fuel present during combustion. If exactly enough air is provided to completely burn all of the fuel, the ratio is known as the stoichiometric mix. AFR is a significant measure for emission control & performance tuning. Stoichiometric mixture is the optimal point that ECU's employing fuel injection attempt to achieve at medium engine load. For gasoline fuel, this air/fuel mixture is approximately 14.7; i.e. the approximate mass of air is 14.7 mass of fuel. Any mixture less than 14.7 to 1 is considered to be a rich mixture while any more than 14.7 to 1 is a lean mix. Magnum AFR-gauge relies on the signal from any properly working narrowband 1,2,3 or 4-wire oxygen sensor mounted in the exhaust. THIS AIR FUEL RATIO METER DOES NOT WORK IN CONJUNCTION WITH WIDEBAND OXYGEN SENSOR.
